Meet the new Inbox: The best way to collaborate on tasks without never-ending e-mail threads
One of our goals at TimeHero is to make our app both easier to use and more powerful. Often, those goals are in conflict. But in this case we think we’ve nailed it.
Introducing: the new Inbox, task following, and quick filters!
What’s the fuss? Let me break it down :)
In typical work environments, you’re going to need other people to do things for you. Sounds simple? Let’s say I need some data from Gary. Gary is a great guy, super on-the-ball, and he knows his data better than anyone. So what do I do? I make a task in TimeHero for Gary. Why? The task goes into his calendar and will remind him! Now, I don’t know which folder or project Gary wants to put this task in — but he does.
With the new Inbox, I can create a task in the Inbox “Get me data @gary for 30m.” He’ll see the task in the Inbox and it will schedule in his calendar. From there, he can leave it in his inbox if it’s quick task that’s not part of a project, or he can move it to his “Data requests” project so it’s tracked properly!
The beauty here is I don’t have to think about where to save the task — I can let the expert decide.
When I create the task, I’m added as a follower of that task. So I’ll get a notification when Gary asks me a question in the activity feed, or uploads a file, or completes the task. I’ll also see when the risk of the task changes, so I can make sure I get my data on time!
The data is also important to Sally, so I’ll add Sally as a follower of that task so she gets updates too.
And when I want to check up on all the tasks I’m following, this is easy — I have new quick filter options at my fingertips!
